Fiona Howard is known for designing such contemporary classics as Sanderson’s Dandelion Clocks.
For the past 25 years she has built her reputation in home furnishing textile design, working closely with her clients in London, Paris, New York, Chicago and San Francisco.
Her studio is in Brighton, on the Sussex coast, overlooking the sea. Here Fiona creates elegant and vibrant collections of contemporary textile designs, using traditional skills such as lino cut, monoprint, and intricately cut paper techniques.
Everything about her work is carefully considered, the papers meticulously prepared, coloured and dried in delicious, signature palettes, then each design first drawn in repeat by hand, from preparatory sketches before application. Fiona’s dedication to design and craftsmanship are hallmarks embedded in her work.
Fiona’s inspiration and creative expertise, come from extensive travel, a love of nature, the quirky, unexpected and an ability to look at life with open eyes.
